AKC News Attached please find the AKC Press Release regarding New DNA Policy that has been put in place because the board recognized the need for customers who question the accuracy of the recorded parentage of any litters and/or dogs to have an established procedure available to verify parentage through the use of DNA testing.
AKC registration papers are your best source of information concerning your dogs genetic history and since the AKC requires extensive record-keeping by the breeder, it also helps to ensure that your breeder is competent to a degree.
