when on electronic monitoring/work release, how does that equate with serving real time in jail. I have heard that some people are only serving 10% of thier time when in jail. How much time when on electronic monitoring?

I have not 1 but 2 loved one's in the Los Angeles County Jail, main jail. Both of them have Staph infections. Those so called "little spider bites everyone is getting". My question is who do I call regarding the outbreak of something so serious and deadly as this. My son has had it 2x's in a row. They are both in on parole violations. What is up on this deadly disease, and why are they not treating it? You can actually die from this. Everything an exposed inmate touches can contaminate another, including deputies. They have people sleeping on floors right after one another. Before I get madder who can I talk to reasonably about this? Sherry Thompson-Cass, 714-523-2522, xrollerbabe@msn.com

I was an inmate at the Sheriff's station (city jail) in Lakewood when I had an asthma attack and had to be taken by ambulance to the nearest hospital ER. I am now receiving the hospital bills. I was under the assumption that it is the jail's responsibility to cover any expenses required for my well-being/safety/etc. The same thing happened to me during a previous period of incarceration, and I never received any bills nor was I asked to pay anything. Am I liable for the medical bills even though I wouldn't have needed emergency services if I hadn't been in custody?

Yes!! I have the same question that Tom had on 11/04/2004 but cannot find the answer!! Does anyone know where to find the answers? I would like to know how much time my boyfriend will actually serve if he was sentenced to 365 days? 10%?? His scheduled release date is 12/28/05, which would only be 63% of his time! How much time are inmates actually doing right now? PLEASE HELP!
