When the Arrow project was cancelled by the Diefenbaker government in 1959, Owen Maynard and over 30 other AVRO engineers , joined NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) in Houston, Texas.
When the government scrapped the Avro "Arrow", much of the equipment associated with the project found its way onto the surplus market.
