Is it right for an engineer who was hired and paid by a village using both private and federal grant funds for the designing of a new fire and rescue building, to charge contractors 150.00 for plans to bit this project. The village board did not OK the charge but he put it in the bid book and was published in the local news paper. he made an additional $1350.00 on the project that he will be paid $18500.00 to complete. the state board of engineers says he cannot accept payment on this project from anyone other than the village unless it is in writing from the board. Problem #2 In writing the bid booklet of the 7 contractors who bid there 3 were three different interpitations of the way thes project was to be bid, causing most bidders to be way off on their prices. Is the engineer responsible will the town board be responsible if they accept a bid and can a contractor sue one or both.

this morning my husbands truck was stolen out of our apartment parking garage. On the outside of the garage door there is a very lage sign stating that the garage is monitored by servalance camaras for the sectuity of our vehicals. WELL, after we reported the car stolen we contacted the management so the police could obtain a copy of the servalance tape for evedence or a discription, ect. we were then told that the servalance equipment no longer works and hasn't for some time. The owners are not willing to replace the equipment. Now to my question. Can we sue for a misleading sign, or false advertising? That was a big selling point for us when we moved in was that the parking was being monitored. We understand that according to our lease they are not responsible for any missing or damaged items, however we were under the impression that if such a thing were to happen that at least it was on tape. Is there anything we can do?
