I have a compaq presario pc(4410us) with soundmax digital audio and windows xp. I have no sound at all. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the soundmax device. I've tried searching for a better driver I tried resetting the bios. and I worked with an online tech support person to try and fix this problem. The tech support person recommended that I take the pc in for a diagnosis. If I have to replace the sound card which I suspect is integrated into the mother board. Will I have to repace the mother board? If I do, How much will it cost and where can I find one? or will cost less to just replace my pc?
