If two 6 volts golf cart batteries are connected this way the voltage doubles to 12 volts and the amps remains the same.
Specify that you want 'golf cart' batteries because most marine/RV 'deep cycle' batteries are only marginally better than automotive batteries for deep cycling.
Something so simple as 3 motorcycle batteries will work, but you could even get to the overkill mode by getting golf cart batteries.
