If you looked at the biblical cross references in your study Bible, you would find that it refers you to the book of Hebrews where these verses are quoted twice and the writer says that Jesus has made the atoning sacrifice for us so that are sins are forgiven and the Spirit dwells in us.
The Bible speaks many times of its inspiration: In Luke 24:27,44; John 5:39; and Hebrews 10:7, Jesus says that what was written about him in the Old Testament would come to pass.
The Ark was so important in Israel from the time of Moses through the Judges and the First Temple era, that it seems remarkable that nothing is said of it in the Bible after the Babylonian Captivity, until the Letter to the Hebrews and the Book of Revelation in the New Testament.
