Larry Bird was the MVP of the NBA finals with the Celtics in 1984 and 1986 and later coached the Indiana Pacers in the 2000 NBA Finals.
Its important to note however that Hakeem and his Rockets had made an earlier trip to the NBA Finals in 1986 but lost to Larry Bird and his Boston Celtics.
Larry Bird led the Indiana Pacers to the NBA Finals (1999) and retired to Florida.
