School Board elections held in October of 2000 resulted in designated African Canadian representation.
School Board elections may be held on any Tuesday between the third Tuesday in April and the third Tuesday in June.

Elections are overseen by a Nominating committee, which is chaired by the Executive Director of SF WoW and made up of Directors and some outgoing Board members.
Board member elections are just around the corner and the Nominating Committee is seeking candidates, who are current MFA members, to get involved in a leadership role on the Board of Directors.
Elections were also held at the annual meeting to fill four seats on the Board of Directors for Lincolnland Economic Development Corporation.

The Board of Elections is considered to be an independent entity but the board of commissioners must finance the cost of the elections as well as the salaries and operating expenses of the elections board members and their staff.
The State Elections Board has completed developing an automated system for the electronic filing of campaign finance disclosure statements.

The Elections Board and its staff are dedicated to enforcing the election and campaign laws vigorously to reduce the opportunity for corruption and maintain public confidence in representative government.
These are nonpartisan elections to elect Board of Education members and to vote on proposed school budgets.
The elections board decided it would enforce the state constitutional requirement that candidates be residents of their districts for one year before the fall election.
