Spreckels Lake: Model boats motor and sail at this artificial lake at Kennedy Drive and 35th Avenue.
One tradition that remains is the model boating club who still sail their boats in the park as others have done for 90 years.

This model boat sails well, although it makes a little more leeway than I would prefer.

Like the cutter model above, the boat sails best when the sails are set on the proper side, and will need to be manually reset when you change tack.
