An ANSI C backend would be a very good thing to get the compiler started and to keep it portable to new platforms, however I think that some day we will need a native code back end for the most common machines to build a comfortable interactive environment.
The Fuzzy-C Compiler converts a fuzzy system from FPL into C source code which may then be compiled and linked with other modules to produce an executable application.
A code consumer with this rule in its safety policy will not be able to accept programs written in a different language, or using different size integers, or even a C program compiled with a compiler that uses different alignment rules for data structures!
