Some Sony cameras will only work if you use a Sony battery for example, and I believe that some models require an expensive repair shop visit just to unlock the camera again.
The Sony cameras will actually playback any video it has on the tape inside with the digital effects applied even if the original footage was not recorded with it.
SONY DXC-35 series production cameras have been used to do all the shooting and SONY BETACAM SP cassettes have been used for all the recordings.

Sony has found a way around the 128 meg maximum supported by some cameras that use their storage system: A switch on the card provides access to a separate 128 megs for 256 total.
At the right is a close up snapshot (with a Sony Mavica digital camera) of the print quality from the Lexmark Optra N using Xerox paper.
Sony is one of the world's largest manufacturers of CCD image sensors, which are also used in digital video cameras and other similar devices.
