I've got the Carrier Weathermaker 8000/ 2 speed furnace. I keep getting the '14' fault. Which locks out the furnace for about 3 hours. What can I do to correct this problem? I've tried sanding the flame proving sensor. That didn't seem to do the trick. Any other thoughts?

When the furnace runs, there's a slurping sound in the larger condensate hose. Then the condensate leaks out the bottom of the furnace instead of into the drain. There is a new white plastic box that is suposed to regulate this. Where can I get a new one?

I was told that the Carrier Weathermaker 8000 furnace is missing a cover inside the unit (under the main cover) therefore PG&E refused to light the furnace until we have a cover - He said it will cause fire if we don't have the cover. Please advise how we can get this part - checked a lot of web sites but it seems that it is not available any where! :( Thanks! Linda

I had the igniter on my Carrier Weather Maker 8000 replaced. Now the igniter stays on all the time, the only way to switch it off is by unplugging it. Could it be a relay on the ciruit board? If so can I replace it or do I have to change the whole board?

carrier 58VCA furnace (downflow) The furnace presented error code 43. checked all tubes for condensate blockage, cleaned trap. PCV pipes have draft to bring moisture back into furnace. If furnace sits (perhaps it dries?) and is turned on it works properly. If turned off (ie 45 minutes) the furnace will not start and the error code appears again.

we just put in the carrier infinity 80 which worked great in the winter and now that it is blazing hot in the summer we are having trouble as we cannot locate a manual switch for the summer fan. It seems that it is supposed to receive this message from the thermostat but as our thermostat is not set up for the cooling message (old house - screwy wiring) we want to just turn on the summer fan but cannot find a switch or button to do so - anyone know how to get this started - our 4 kids are getting no sleep in this heat! (which means we aren't either!)

What's the typical life of a Gas Furnace? Taking advantage of the Federal Tax Credit offered for 2009/2010, I was hoping to install a heat-pump. However, I was told that in order to take advantage of the credit I also needed to replace my furnace. Another question -- I live in the Pacific Northwest --what would be a reasonable quote for a Heat Pump Installation (basic specs - 15 SEER, 3 Ton Heat Pump) Thanks, Michael

I have a Carrier 8000 converted to propane. When I turn it on, the fans blow, the ignitor gets hot but the gas doesn't light. HOwever, at least twice this season, the gas has lit and it has worked properly. The rest of the time it appears to be not getting propane.
Got a question? Got an answer? Let's hear it!
