Three-way catalytic converters that control all three substances require associated electronic controls for precise regulation of oxygen levels in the exhaust gas.
Catalytic Converters, Particulate Traps, pumping pollutants back into the engines, and other "after treatments" are expensive, use more fuel and are high in maintenance cost.
