If you make own WMA files from your own CD's or MP3's, I don't think the Media Manager is required at all because there is no licensing information included with the file.

I don't agree with this, as a matter of fact I think MP3s provide a great way to sample songs before buying a CD, and people will continue to make purchases if the music is good.
I need to get some new cd's to make more MP3's because the seven hours of songs don't last long enough.
