The engines will be introduced initially on the 2001 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD/3500 Series pickups and chassis cabs, scheduled to go into production later this year.
The 2004 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups will be powered by two new inline engines.

Performance Distributors now offers a small diameter high performance electronic ignition system for Chevrolet engines that do not have the clearance for a D.
Chevrolet is no longer producing the lower power (230hp) 454, all 1998 chassis are equipped with the 290hp engines.
