Chuck Palahniuk’s Fight Club , from which Beigbeder borrows less than subtly on several occasions, actually had a deeper look at who and what we are, and whilst the ending of the novel is equally scary (is the Narrator dead, do people still think he is Tyler Durden, what is God going to think?
For all the carnage on display, what comes as the greatest shock while watching Fight Club is realizing that the film is a comedy --albeit a dark and very cynical one at that (and what else could it be, coming from Se7en and The Game maestro Fincher?
