Club tennis is often linked with club management, tennis committees, golf, swim, and residential properties.
The club is especially keen to encourage Junior tennis through a structured coaching program and it is also hoped that the new indoor courts will be used for disabled tennis.

The Club was founded in the Summer of 1878 with the quaint title of THE LEICESTER LAWN TENNIS AND QUOIT CLUB and is reputed to be one of the twelve oldest tennis clubs in the world.
The club was established in 1881 and can trace it's affiliation with the Yorkshire Lawn Tennis Association back to 1884.
Tennis tournaments at the Racquet Club and Tennis Club brought the city worldwide acclaim.
