The zip file contains the Country List with ISO codes and Names, the data model and scripts for creating the views for the Location hierarchies.
The selection of the ISO 3166 list as a basis for country code top-level domain names was made with the knowledge that ISO has a procedure for determining which entities should be and should not be on that list.
Institutes are identified in the database by a code composed of the ISO country code plus a number or acronym supplied by the FAO.

Codes and regulations for residential construction vary across the country so it is important to consult with your local building department and possibly obtain a local architect or engineer to modify your plans to conform to all local codes and regulations.
Some countries like UK and France are working with their business and NGO sectors to develop new codes of conduct around transparent investing in developing countries and organizations and these moves need to be encouraged and expanded.
Requests made by countries to use the three- letter form of country code specified in the ISO-3166 standard will be considered in such cases so as to prevent possible conflicts and confusion.

US is the ISO-3166 2-letter country code for the United States and thus the US Domain is established as a top-level domain and registered with the InterNIC the same way other country domains are.
Countries that wish to be registered as top-level domains are required to name themselves after the two-letter country code listed in the international standard ISO-3166.
