Activities While legal responsibility for setting standards and designing quality assurance systems lies with Board, it is the Colleges and Deaneries that are responsible for carrying out the tasks of the Board, with Deans maintaining their role in the management and delivery of postgraduate education.
The AOC is comprised of the Associate Deans for Undergraduate Programs from each college, the Executive Director of the Office of Admissions and Records, the Registrar, the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs, and several other student services and academic policy-oriented administrators from throughout the University.
Working in collaboration with the academic deans and department heads from all colleges, perhaps with a coordination committee of several academic deans to ensure full University participation, the University College will also house the existing Office of Academic Services to facilitate the advising of incoming and undecided students.

Students in the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences may petition their Dean's Office to drop a course past the 5th week deadline for either of the following reasons: They were enrolled in but never attended a course, and if course instructors verify that no work for a course had been done by the student.
