I was told just to wait till she is about 8 months old and then just run her with some well trained dogs to get her on the right track, while other have told me to let trapped coon out in front of her and let her trail them after they have run out of site, and then when she gets older and a little more wiser I can start running her with older coon dogs.
Tracy Hi my names Tracy and I am just getting into coonhunting here in North Carolina and I was wanting to catch a few live coons in traps to train my dog with I have a 17 month old female walker with good bloodlines that I have had since she was 11 months old.
Our neutered Maine Coons are always around so that the kittens are used to older cats and our two German Shepherd Dogs also come and take an interest in watching over the kittens.

i have a 5 1/2 year old coon dog, blue tick. he is very spoiled. he lives in the house and hunts a few times a year with my son josh. he is a little over weight these days and is on a diet. i am curious about the life span on these dogs but cant find any information on it
