Training programs should strive to provide residents with the appropriate fund of knowledge in the surgical sciences and core operative skills in the areas of flexible endoscopy and video telescopic surgery such that the ability to master new or evolving procedures in these areas in the future is easily feasible.
Core Competencies Fellows are required to develop knowledge and skills in six basic areas: epidemiology of violent injuries; firearm policy; policies and programs addressing root causes of violence; community perspectives; policy advocacy; and media advocacy.
Will replace the HSPT and will be used to determine student achievement of the knowledge and skills specified by all areas of the Core Curriculum Content Standards and Workplace Readiness Standards.
