[It is a virtual version of Southern Cross University , located in Lismore NSW Australia with a sub-campus in Coffs Harbour NSW Australia.
The stars that make up the Southern Cross are visible all year round from New Zealand and they also appear on our national flag so I thought it would be an appropriate name for my backyard observatory.
