Mayo had battled hard all afternoon and they had levelled the match at 1-9 each when David McDonagh scored their goal just a minute before Gallagher's strike.
I had thought it was virtually impossible for the top finisher of last year to repeat with such a margin this year, but once again, David Gallagher managed to somehow surpass his earlier win by posting an even bigger margin of victory.
