Juan Diego, spreading the Gospel and the Virgin's message, was able to win some of his fellow Aztecs to the faith before being stoned to death by an intolerant and violent Aztec mob, who saw the Lady of Guadalupe apparitions as an insult and threat to the Empire.
Another experience was when a Mexican couple brought me to Guadalupe in Mexico City, where Mary appeared several times to Juan Diego, an Indigenous person.
The excursion is coming together as a series of pilgrimages : 1) To stand before the image of The Virgin of Guadalupe , which miraculously appeared on the blanket of Juan Diego during a vision of Her on the hill where once stood the temple of Tonantzin, the Aztec earth mother goddess.
