Other films in the festival include documentaries on Algerian women's rights, Oliver Sacks and the Cree Indians' fight against a hydroelectric dam.
These microcinemas have become important venues for experimental films and activist documentaries, and their presence in cities such as Seattle and Minneapolis has often been connected to the emergence of a strong local filmmaking scene.
The documentaries have been selected from 52 films screened at a film festival organized by Himal Association and Himal magazine, in Kathmandu from 30 September- 3 October 1999.

It is not uncommon to see Nazi film footage used in television documentaries intended for mass audiences even today, as it is understood that thinking persons are immune to the Nazi message.
