Ann Hunt has been appointed by the minister of Education to facilitate the transition of Homai to state school status and has been working with the Board of Governors and Management at Homai and the RNZFB to progress critical statutory and other issues such as the election of a Board of Trustees.
If an Office of Vice-President becomes vacant, the Board of Governors shall appoint a Member of the Society residing in the region represented by that office to serve until a special election to fill the unexpired term of the vacant office can be conducted.
Election/ Appointment - Each member of the Board of Governors representing a physician medical staff, hospital or a medical school shall be designated by a vote of the active physician medical staff members holding membership in the Society as provided in Article X of these by-laws or medical school dean.

Republican governors and governors-elect today gave credit to President Bush, their own top-notch candidates and a GOP advantage on taxes and budget issues as the reasons Republicans defied conventional wisdom to keep a majority of governorships in this year’s elections.
Because it is election year, and 36 governors are up for re-election, politicians have been more than usually reluctant to make unpopular spending cuts or tax hikes.
At its first meeting after the first election of Member Governors following the adoption of these By-Laws, the Board of Governors shall appoint two Emeritus Governors.
