There is a 'Formal Hall' every Friday evening when students are expected to wear reasonably formal dress and their academic gowns; members of the SCR and their guests dine at High Table although, unlike most other colleges, they are served the same food as the JCR.
Formal dress - evening gowns and tuxedos - are generally worn only to gala Symphony events, such as Opening Night or Symphony Ball.
