Unfortunately, Final Fantasy IV is still a little too linear for an RPG for my liking because the game's well writen storyline kinda limits the gameplay.
Final Fantasy IV looks exactly the same as the out of date 16-bit game, but now the entire script has been reworked so it's almost a brand new adventure.
Final Fantasy IV is easily one of Square's most popular video games of all time and many think this game is the best in the series!

I've played Dragon Warrior, Dragon Warrior II, Dragon Warrior IV, Super Mario RPG, Lufia II : Rise of the Sinistrals, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and of course EarthBound.
