Pangea's Internet Fax Service (IFS) works on the simple principle of by-passing local telephone companies and transmitting international faxes via the Internet to the destination country or the lowest cost termination node throughout the world and delivering the fax at a greatly reduced cost.
Voice and fax traffic between a home office and branch office, normally routed through the public switched telephone toll network, is instead carried via the Internet or a private intranet in the form of IP packets.
If there is no appropriate destination ISP on the Internet, the Fax Hub directs the Interfax IU to transmit the fax by traditional phone line to the destination fax device.
