There were several old fire rings and beneath the tree was a small cache of canned tuna and mixed vegetables - basic ingredients for a cold salad that fishermen and ranchers devour with a splash of salsa piquante.
Fire can mean a group of tighter rings because of the drying out of the ground is greater than when there is a forest canopy to shade and retain moisture levels.
All cabins have a picnic table and fire ring just outside your door for easy outdoor cooking.

Ring fires were used by the Native Americans of Illinois and other midwestern states in the annual hunts for bison and deer.
Campfires are only permitted in fire rings or fireplaces provided for such purposes and portions of the beach designated as permissible for fires.
As campsites are designated, fire rings will be located on mineral soil to prevent the spread of campfires into forest litter.

Also provided are lawn chairs, picnic table, and a fire ring with grill area on the side yard located to the left of the cottage.
There is a picnic table on the porch and fire ring and charcoal grill are provided.
We supply picnic tables on every site and a fire ring or pit if you would call it to cook those wonderful campfire recipes.
