It is absolutely crazy that it's OK to rip a live fox to bits with hunting hounds yet it will be illegal to have a sing song down the local pub.

The bill bans hare coursing and stag hunting outright but allows licensed fox hunting where it is deemed the most humane method of control and also allows ratting and rabbiting with dogs.
Banning hunting would lead to more foxes being shot in Worcestershire – and shooting is NOT a humane means of controlling the fox population.
If hunting were abolished the fox population would be managed by snaring or shooting, largely with shotguns.

The mink will use it's speed and agility to evade the hounds but, as in fox hunting, the hounds have more stamina, and the mink will often take refuge in a hole in the bank, or a tree to escape.
It is a common misconception that hounds hunt naturally, and the new influx to the pack are taught how to behave by the older hounds whilst hunting fox cubs.

In the case of fox-hunting, loads of people on loads of horses with loads of hounds are against a single fox - and when it is caught, it is killed brutally.

British town dwellers get so hot under the collar about fox hunting because they don't like the people who hunt and they think that foxes have rather sweet faces.
There is some funny accounting going on here, sort of like when you go fox hunting and you hope the foxes can’t keep track of how many hunters left and how many stayed.

Those of us who support a complete ban on fox hunting voted in favour of the Bill so that it can be amended in the Committee and Report stages.
