Frames are great for very very very large sites, and for presenting advertising, but I object to their overuse in amateur sites such as this, so I created all the parts of this site in a text editor with the many small pieces assembled into html files using the DOS developer utility NMAKE.

The most important reason to avoid frames is because the HTML pages that appear on a site which have the navigation in a separate frame usually lack any navigation themselves.
Frames have been avoided so far since its implementation in pure HTML has the potential to confuse navigation.
