Our Good Friday and Easter processions make a declaration that Christ is the enlightenment of the world, that Christ brings salvation, that Christ is the fulfillment of all of man’s hopes and desires.
It is that forgiveness of sins, that meaning of life, that guarantee of the future that is made possible because of what Christ did on the cross on Good Friday and what He did when He was raised to new life on that Easter Sunday morning.
The curse of Calvary became a blessing and the gloom of Good Friday was followed by the joy of Easter Day Christians speak of Christ crucified and risen again.
