That there is a lack of parity in individual grant value between research grants allocated to research in the social sciences and humanities compared to that available for the natural sciences.
We are hoping that by unraveling discourses on the subject of belief in the sciences and humanities we might present a new possibility for creating intellectual links between these two sectors in the academy, and indeed the communities within which we live.
Since the humanities are premised on the idea that no belief, no interpretation, is immune from revision and that each belief thought to be true might turn out to be otherwise, properly taught students will come to see that unrevisable beliefs are very rare indeed.

RICH is an independent, nonprofit state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities that promotes public understanding and appreciation of the tradition of thought and accomplishment known as the humanities.
