The Law Librarianship section to the right will provide information on core skills identified as requirements for those working in law libraries, while the Vacancies section can be used by anyone wishing to advertise positions for law librarians or in which those with skills and experience in working with legal information may be interested.
New laws were made to allow county libraries to extend their services by contracting with counties, cities, towns, and school districts without library service; a new law allowed the formation of regional libraries and made provision for their funding.
County public law libraries were created by statute and are controlled and funded through the provisions of the California Business and Professions Code Sections 6300 et seq.

Law and the biological and agricultural sciences are served by the Law and Life Sciences Libraries respectively.
The UO Libraries subscribe to many law-related journals not indexed by the resources listed above.
