In French lodges, the hangings also bear silver skulls and crossed bones and red flames which symbolize the zeal of the Elus as well as the burning remorse and guilt of H.
It includes the red cliffs that tower above Stone Mountain Lodge with Apple Valley below, the canyon that heads up towards Estes Park, and more distant mountains beyond.
Our rustic lodge was hand built in the late 1920s out of native Norway red pine and is a historical landmark of the original Gunflint Trail.
