The problem arises as a result of confusion which can arise because of the Miranda rights which are stated to the suspect at the same time.

That is why courts release suspects who were not read their Miranda rights, or prohibit evidence that was obtained without a proper search warrant, or exclude confessions that were beaten out of the suspect.
Confessions are evaluated as to whether they were coerced or obtained in violation of Miranda rights, rather than whether they are honest acknowledgments of culpability.
If no statements are being used against a defendant it makes absolutely no difference if any Miranda rights are given even if the defendant provided a statement to the police.
