MSN Messenger has fewer features but can be used by older versions of Windows and can also communicate with Windows Messenger if one user has Windows XP and the other a previous version of Windows.
There is also a version of MSN Messenger for the Macintosh, but because it is limited to text communication, the Macintosh version was not included in this review.
