The truth is our world is changing and theses changes make us much more susceptible to parasites than we were in the past.
Much of what we believe and how we are in the world is determined by processes within us which are hidden from our conscious awareness.
The world religion that might conceivably have emerged would have been much more sophisticated than the accusation of syncretism would have us believe.

There is much in the world to make us afraid; but much more in JESUS to make us unafraid!
That is somewhat misleading because so much of what we have around us and which we hold dear in this troublesome world is recorded in symbols of all kinds.
Much has been written by those in the Body of Christ keeping us up to speed on the portentous events taking place in our government and around the world.
