Is it true with PPS you do not exercise,or do what activites you are use to doing? I am 72 had polio is l936 age of 3 years. One Dr. says no I will not allow you to have a scooter or a chair, you can walk. Another, you got to save what muscles you have left. I wear two leg braces, but no cruches, or walker get around really well. I started falling about l0 years ago and they adjusted the braces where the toe was more upward and no more problems. I do hurt in places where I did not have polio and is strange. I also am a overcomer of Colon cancer, 20 years ago, 9 years ago, 2 months to live, it is on record at Med. Hospital in Houston, and another both Hospitals show, 3 tumors on Liver, 5 on Breast, one lung completly gone, in bones, and in blood higher than Methodist Hospital has ever seen. Now no sign of cancer anywhere in my system. So that can not be the cause of my back shoulder blade, and neck and now the elbow almost in pain all time. But it does stop at times and I feel so good in the times no pain. I have problem with the Dr. he said all Med's have side effects and having over 60 operations,I don't want you to have side effects on me. The only other thing I have is high blood count, and I haven't been able to sleep over 3 hours a night in over 30 years. If I should keep on doing normal for me, and it doesn't affect me why whould it later on. How do you tell yourself I am going in a wheelchair when you can walk. That just does not make a good idea in my head. Thank you for your time and hopefully a reply. I had polio in both feet, one leg, hip and partly back. I was in a hospital l3 years before I went home. But I am walking, so that is good. Thanks, Frances I don't go to the polio club as after I retired came to a small retirement fishing town, for safety, Houston area just didn't feel safe in my area.
