Prisons Infrastructure Redevelopment Program Prison Service staff from a range of areas will continue their involvement in functional and operational planning related to the project.
Prisons are mainly warehousing people for punishment and do not provide rehabilitation programs to develop needed education and other skills to rebuild their lives once released.
Privatized prisons, then, are not a quantum leap toward dismantling the state but simply an extension of the already significant private sector involvement in corrections.
